Rules & Regulations
- Certification: This series will be a USBC certified event, all USBC rules shall apply, and all entrants must be current adult USBC members.
- Averages: All averages will be verified prior to the start of the sweeper. All averages will be converted to a challenge average using the USBC Conversion Chart. We will use bowlers’ highest 2022-23 average of 21 games or more using bowl.com. If no 22-23 season average, bowler must provide proof of 22-23 average. If no 2022-23 season USBC average, use the most recent USBC certified average of 18 games or more. If the bowler has no average, the bowler will be assigned 210 average. If a bowler only has a Sport average, the average shall be adjusted using the USBC Sport Conversion Chart. If a bowler has a standard average and a Sport average, that standard average shall be used. The tournament director reserves the right to rerate any bowler for any reason.
- Tournament Averages: A bowler will qualify for a King of the Hill average after bowling 8 sweeper games. After 8 games the bowler will use their unadjusted sweeper average.
- Handicap: Individual handicap shall be calculated as 80% of 210. All female bowlers and bowlers over the age of 60 years old will receive an additional 5 pins per game. If a female or bowler over 60 win a sweeper, they no longer qualify for the additional 5 pins.
- Format: All bowlers will bowl 4 games moving pairs after each game. Top 4 bowlers will qualify for a nightly bracket finals. Bracket games will be one game matches. If the game is tied we will go on a 10th frame roll off. If there is a tie for a bracket position, the tie breaker will be the high scratch series. In case of a tie for any other cashing position, the prize money will be split between bowlers. The winner of the night’s King of the Hill bracket will automatically qualify for the stepladder next week if they bowl and if they do not qualify then they would take the 4th seed position.
- Challenge Pattern: All games of competition will be competed on a challenge pattern. Pattern will be announced no later than the day before competition. We will consider changing patterns every week of competition.
- Payouts: Top 4 bowlers will be paid out; 3rd place and 4th place in the bracket will be paid the same. If there’s enough bowler participation, Payout Ratio will be 1:4 and additional payout spots will be added.
- Entry Fee and Breakdown: Entry fee will be $30 per bowler. Based on 30 bowlers, per bowler breakdown: $14.00 Linage, $13.00 Weekly Prize Fund, $3.00 Admin Fee.
- Tournament Authority: The Tournament Host will have final say in all disputes, rules not covered here, or rules not covered by the USBC.
